Whats on the California State Board Cosmetology exams?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cosmetology school california

Do you know where I can find the guidelines that tell you whats exactly on the written and what your expected to do for the practical?

Right now I live in TX and I just finished taking my SB tests but I'm moving back home(CA) in a few months and will have to take the tests again out there. Since CA requires 1600 and TX only requires 1500 I have to work in TX for 3 months, which will be equal to 100 hours or go to school in CA to get 100 hours. But either way I'll still have to take the SB tests in CA.

The written is really easy…. buy the state board exam study book and memorize most of the questions. Its exactly like that. In the partical it depends… You find out the day you go what procedures you have to do. Make sure to finish the disinfection procedure and constantly wash your hands. Plz try to take a model with shoulder length, thin hair… its much easier to work with…..

Good luck…

ok… So I am a cosmetology student and I know the results of lightening hair and coloring hair and stuff but let me tell you what I am wanting to do. I used to be pretty much a level ten on the top of my head and the underneath was probably about a level 2-3… Then about 2-3 months ago I went to about a level 2-3 all over… Now I am wanting to go back light on the top of my hair. I have not lightened my hair in quite a while except for one streal by my bangs. I purchased the new redken blonde icing (with ammonia and 40v) and I also have up to 7 by redken. I do have a booster too. … I know I wont get that blonde right away but I eventually want to be really light again and I was going to tone with a violet… I want it to be ashy… Also I do want to keep some dark streaks on top, so maybe just like back to back foils. what do you think… please help!!! I know I already posted this once but I need some input, I plan to maybe try this tomorrow at school

2 long too read…….sorry, wish i could help you, but think about it, there is no way a real hair stylist thats gonna be on yahoo answers! really……think bout it…….ya noe……..lol

Do you tip a hair colorist at a cosmetology school?

I'm thinking about having my hair colored at a local cosmetology school. They are apparently only allowed to charge for the dye itself and not their time.

I'm just wondering, if she does a really good job can I still tip her like I would a normal hair stylist? If I can what do I base the tip on? Normally a hair coloring runs well over $125, at the school it is only $20. Do I base the tip on the normal 20%?

When I go for a any type of treatment at the local cosmetology school, I tip 15 to 20 % depending on the quality of the service performed. The way I think about it, I am still receiving a beauty service at an excellent price because the students are still learning; plus the tip helps them with their school fees.

Can I still collect unemployment while attending cosmetology school?

The company I worked for the last 6 years shut down and I was laid off. I live in the state of California and I want to start a new career by going to cosmetology school, but I would need to collect unemployment while going to school. I’m pretty sure most cosmetology schools are full time. Is this possible since its like a trade school?

Yes you can. School is not a job/source of income.

What is the best way to pay for cosmetology school?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: cosmetologist school

How did you do it?
I want to become a cosmetologist and go to a Columbus, Ohio school.
The tuition is roughly around $14,000 and all of the financial aid, grants, and loans are stressing me out.
I feel like I'll NEVER be able to pay for all of this!
Thanks for your time ^_^
