If you are ready for a new career and do not have any college you may be wondering if is it possible to start a job without completing a degree? Nursing is a hot career and will continue to be so for awhile due to people getting older. Most people who think of a nurse usually think of an RN. For example a nursing assistant has the related career name of nurse, but they are not really a nurse. They are an assistant to help care for a patient doing work that a highly trained and skilled Registered Nurse does not generally do. Of course many nursing assistants may only use that job in order to gain an entry level employment position and then continue on in their education to later advance their career options.

So what exactly does a nursing assistant do? They generally give basic care to the patients in a nursing home or a hospital. Some of the duties they may have include dressing a patient or helping a patient get dressed. They may also bathe some patients who can no longer bathe themselves. In additional they may also feed or help to feed some patients.

These are just some of the nursing assistant duties and it is only the tip of the ice burg. Of course all medical facilities are different so you can expect other nursing assistant duties to vary somewhat. So if you are looking to get your foot in the door of a new career in the medical field this may be one to consider and one that you may be able to enter in a relatively short period of time. Many kids see those big semi trucks driving down the road and wonder what it would be like to drive in one. They love to use hand jesters to try and get the drivers to honk the horn and get really excited when a truck driver complies and honks their semi truck horn. If you grew up before the 90s you may rememeber many TV shows and movies about driving trucks. A lot of those shows kids watched help make them want to become a truck driver when they grew up.

In real life being a truck driver is not as fun as some movies make it seem. Driving a truck is not always easy and in fact it can be tough. On the other hand if you enjoy a little more freedom without someone sitting next to you it may sound more interesting. Plus a truck driver can earn pretty good money considering they did not have to get a four year college degree.

Now days however many drivers do get their initial training by going to some form of a truck driving school. There are many different program types and places to learn how to drive a big rig that one really needs to do their homework before making a final decision. For example some people go to a more traditional school where they can learn to drive a truck in as little as a few weeks or a couple of months. The more time spent behind the wheel learning needed skills the better. Others may choose a company paid training program where after they complete the course they go to work for that company. There are good and bad points about both routes. That is why it is important to ask lots of questions from at least a couple of different institutions.
