how long does it usually take to build clientele?
NO thats not too old, when i went there were lots of mature students on my course! i think the oldest one was 45yrs so dont worry!
clientele building will basically depend on how many people you know and start by doing their hair, they will recommemd you to their friends/family and it snowballs from there………. if you advertise that help to…….

schools for cosmetology
I have been putting off going to school for my cosmetology licence for about a year now, because after extensive research on all of the local schools I have found that the cheapest is $18,000!! And the ideal school I want to go to is $22,000!!
Or I have the choice of going to an adult school that only charges you for your supplies $600-NO TUITION FEES!
I have also asked a few friends who are hairstylist what they think and one says it doesn’t matter and one says it does matter- So now I turn to the opinions of Yahoo!Answers.
I would love to go to the cheapest school possible, but before I jump into this extremely cheap school… I am wondering…
DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHICH BEAUTY SCHOOL I ATTEND TO FINISH MY 1600 HOURS SO I CAN GET MY COSMETOLOGY LICENCE?
It really dosen't….All Cosmetology School's should be teaching you what you need to know for boards, and more.
People seem to think that what you pay for, Is what you get…Not true, I know a few expensive schools that are awful.

Any advice would be GREAT.
Thank you, so much!
You should also try to enroll in Airbrush Makeup classes..it's huge in the industry now! I use Dinair airbrush makeup and they teach classes. I took it over a year ago and i loved it! I really enjoy their product and they were super helpful on where to go from there. It was only a 2 day class..which was super nice. Anyway,if you want to look up all the details just type Dinair into google and you'll find their site. Good luck with your makeup career…=)

schools for cosmetology
I know…random states, but my husband is looking to go into PhD programs in all of these states and I am interested in attending a cosmetology school wherever we end up. I would like to go to a school that is ATS accredited and has an Associates degree in specialized areas and not just a general "cosmetology degree".
I currently have a BA in Philosophy, but I am looking to possibly get into the wedding consulting business and feel that cosmetology would be a great service to offer and then build a consulting business on.
Any possible school names would be appreciated
I don't know about the other states, but Utah has a FABULOUS one called Stacey's. It's in Ogden, but there might be another one in Salt Lake City. I've traveled around the US and have found that the cosmetologists trained at Stacey's were so much better at everything they did. They stay very up to date and teach you how be a good business manager over your own. Good luck with that!
